
On visit to South Asian nation, commander of eastern Libyan forces also meets with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Commander of eastern Libyan forces Lt. Gen. Saddam Khalifa Haftar Friday met with Pakistan's army chief, Gen. Asim Munir, in the garrison city of Rawalpindi to discuss defense cooperation, an official statement said.
Haftar and Munir discussed “matters of mutual interest, evolving regional dynamics, security challenges and matters pertaining to defense cooperation,” said a statement from the Pakistani military.
The two sides “agreed to undertake defense industrial collaboration and exchange of technical expertise to address contemporary security challenges,” said the statement.
Haftar, later, also met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the capital Islamabad.
