Israeli forces also target homes in Khan Younis, Gaza City, according to reports

At least 48 Palestinians were killed and several injured in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, medics said.

In the latest strike, an Israeli drone killed four Palestinians, including two children, after targeting a tent sheltering displaced people west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Six people were killed, including a child, in Israeli shelling in Jabalia in northern Gaza and Khan Younis, a medical source told Anadolu.

The official news agency WAFA, citing medical sources, said 18 people were killed and several others injured in a strike targeting a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians outside a school in Khan Younis.

Several children were among the victims, WAFA said.

Medics confirmed that the bodies of 14 people were transferred to the Nasser Medical Complex in the city, while 12 people were injured in the attack.

Seven people were also killed and many others injured when Israeli forces shelled groups of civilians in northern Gaza, a medical source said.

Another Palestinian was killed and 10 others were wounded, mostly women, in an Israeli bombardment in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the source added.

Four other people lost their lives when Israeli forces shelled two homes in Gaza City and Khan Younis, witnesses said.

In central Gaza, a Palestinian woman was killed in Deir al-Balah after an Israeli strike hit her tent. Two more Palestinians were killed in Jabalia when Israeli forces shelled a civilian gathering.

Medical crews recovered the bodies of three children following an Israeli airstrike in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. The bodies of two more people were retrieved in the Joret al-Lout area of Khan Younis.

The Israeli army also fired at homes in the Qizan al-Najjar area in southern Khan Younis and northeastern areas of Gaza City, WAFA said. No reports have emerged yet about casualties.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 54,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
