
Global crypto market up around 3% at $3.5 trillion
Bitcoin broke through its second all-time high in less than 24 hours, hitting a record $113,822 as of 1800GMT Thursday, climbing more than 4%.
It marked the second time the cryptocurrency has reached a new all-time high after it briefly surpassed the $112,000 mark Wednesday afternoon before paring gains.
According to data from analysis firm Coinmarketcap, the value of the global cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, increased by approximately 3% over 24 hours, reaching $3.5 trillion.
The price of Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is up almost 22% since the start of this year.
The price of Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, gained more than 5% in value, rising to $2,798.
