Nearly 14,000 others also injured in attacks since October 2023, Health Ministry says
Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon killed at least 19 people and injured 91 others on Friday, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
The new fatalities raised the total number of people killed in Israeli attacks in the country since October 2023 to 3,136, with 13,979 others injured, a ministry statement said.
While cross-border warfare between Israeli forces and Hezbollah continued since the Gaza war, Israel escalated its air campaign in Lebanon late September, killing the group's chief, Hassan Nasrallah, and other commanders. It then launched a ground invasion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
The attacks have forced more than 1 million people to flee their homes, and they are in need of humanitarian aid.
