Zelenskyy says production anticipated to commence this year, with significant increases in output planned for subsequent periods
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Thursday that Ukraine has signed an agreement with US company Swift Beat to manufacture "hundreds of thousands" of drones.
"The visit to Denmark begins with an important step for our protection. There is an agreement on cooperation for the production of drones, and in particular interceptor drones — this is clearly a priority," he said on Telegram.
According to the official, production is anticipated to commence this year, with significant increases in output planned for subsequent periods.
"An agreement has been signed with the company Swift Beat. And we are talking about hundreds of thousands of drones already this year and the possibility to significantly scale up production next year," he said.
He said interceptors designed to destroy drones and missiles, quadcopters used for reconnaissance and fire adjustment, as well as long-range strike drones, would all become considerably more abundant.
"We will continue working today in Denmark towards new such agreements for joint productions, joint development, and joint protection," he added.
