Netanyahu claims Israel has delivered ‘serious damage' on Iran's nuclear facilities in its airstrikes over past 2 days

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened Saturday to “burn Tehran” if Iran continues launching missiles at Israeli territory.

Katz's remarks came during a high-level security assessment attended by Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Mossad Director David Barnea, and other senior military officials, according to the Times of Israel newspaper.

“The Iranian dictator is turning the citizens of Iran into hostages and creating a reality in which they, especially the residents of Tehran, will pay a heavy price for the criminal attack on Israeli civilians,” Katz said, referring to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“If Khamenei continues to fire missiles at the Israeli home front, Tehran will burn,” he warned.

Later, in a video statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Prime claimed Israel has delivered “serious damage” to Iran's nuclear facilities in its airstrikes over the past two days.

“Very soon, you will see Israeli Air Forces planes above Tehran's skies. We will hit every target of the Ayatollahs' regime,” Netanyahu warned, alleging the strikes carried out so far “are nothing compared to what will be experienced in the coming days.”

“We also hit the team of senior scientists who are leading these projects,” he said, adding that strikes have delayed Iran's nuclear program for several years.

Earlier, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Air Force Commander Tomer Bar said that “the path to Iran is paved,” announcing new airstrikes on Tehran.

Israel launched a series of strikes against Iranian territory, targeting nuclear and missile facilities early Friday, killing senior military figures and scientists. The wave of attacks has continued and resulted in the deaths of at least 78 people with 320 others injured, according to figures earlier announced by Iran's UN envoy.

In retaliation, Iran fired ballistic missiles at several locations inside Israel, resulting in the deaths of at least three people and injuring more than 170, according to media reports.
