Turkish international Gokhan Tore heads to West Ham United on season-long loan
English Premier League club West Ham United have announced Monday that they have acquired Besiktas's Turkish winger Gokhan Tore on a one-year loan.
The 24-year-old mentioned the importance of the presence of his former coach Slaven Bilic, who was Besiktas manager between 2013 and 2015, in his decision.
"Slaven was also a big factor in me coming here and he is a great manager,” he said in a statement published on West Ham's website. “He is the main man and knows me very well. I could not have said no to him."
"He is the best manager I have worked under and he is like a father to the players. You feel like you are family," the Turkish international added.
The loan fee was 2.5 million British pounds ($3.2 million) with a buying option set at a further 10 million pounds ($12.9 million), according to West Ham.
The 24-year-old player scored 19 goals and had 28 assists in 111 matches in the last three seasons at Besiktas.
