Paris Saint-Germain eliminate English opponents Chelsea in Champions League and qualify for quarter-finals

French football giant Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after eliminating London-based club Chelsea 2-1 in the last 16 second leg at Stamford Bridge stadium in London late Wednesday.



Visitors PSG took the lead when Adrien Rabiot found the net in the 16th minute, 1-0. Chelsea responded in the 27th minute when Diego Costa put the ball into Paris net, 1-1.



Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the leading goal for his team in the 67th minute.



Parisian heavyweights won the game 2-1 in London and qualified for the quarter final phase in the Champions League along with Real Madrid, German side Wolfsburg and Portugal's Benfica.



PSG won the first leg in the French capital 2-1 on Feb. 16.



The other quarter finalists will be unveiled after the last 16 second leg matches on March 15-16.



The rest of the second legs; Atletico Madrid-PSV (0-0), Manchester City-Dynamo Kyiv (3-1), Barcelona-Arsenal (2-0) and Bayern Munich-Juventus (2-2) will be played on March 15 and 16.



Champions League quarter final draws will be made on March 18.
