Turkish football club Besiktas win charity tournament held at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Istanbul for Soma mining disaster
Turkish club Besiktas has won a charity tournament at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium held to support the families of those deceased in Turkey's Soma mining disaster.
Besiktas beat rivals Fenerbahce 1-0 in the first match of the tournament in Istanbul on Friday thanks to a goal scored by Turkish left-back Ismail Koybasi, who chipped the ball over Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel in the 11th minute.
English Premier League club Chelsea defeated Fenerbahce 2-0 in the second match.
Chelsea's new signing Diego Costa made a classy successful shot after dribbling past his opponents in the 24th minute, bringing the score to 1-0.
Seven minutes later a free kick by Chelsea's German forward Andre Schurrle was deflected by Volkan Demirel.
However English club's Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic followed the ball after it went loose and smashed it into the net, taking the score to 2-0.
In the last match, Besiktas beat Chelsea 1-0 with a goal scored by defender Ersan Adem Gulum in the 43rd minute, enabling the "Black Eagles" to claim victory in the tournament.
