6.29 FETÖ cleanup in the judiciary — As part of the investigation that was launched into the Fetullah Terror Organization’s (FETÖ) coup attempt in Aydın, 60 businessmen were detained. The 2nd Chamber of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors announced that nine prosecutors and 18 judges had been suspended in Aydın.

An operation into the FETÖ structure was initiated immediately after the coup attempt. The first leg of the operation was about the jurisdiction structure the terrorist organization established. The Istanbul District Administrative Court issued a decision to take 140 judges and prosecutors into custody.
