July 15 Coup Attempt Alparslan Yazıcı

Alparslan Yazıcı

Special Operations Policeman Alparslan Yazıcı was called in for duty at Gölbaşı on the night of July 15th during the FETÖ attempted coup attempt. He returned home from duty at 23:30 and immediately went back to the Department of Special Operations upon a phone call. As he got home, his wife was giving a bath to her child. Yazıcı was only able to say, “Ayşegül, I am going out, renounce your rights for me in this.” Busy with her child, she could only say, “Be careful.” And this was their last conversation.

Ayşegül Yazıcı called her husband 20 minutes later, but could not contact him any longer. 43 year old Alparslan was martyred with the bomb dropped by putschist traitors.
Receiving the martyrdom news on July 18th, the family gave a blood sample to Forensic Medicine and the body of Alparslan was identified after a DNA test.
Originally from Kırıkkale, he had 3 children and was buried on July 19th.
Martyr’s name was given to an Anatolian imam hatip high school in his hometown Kırklareli.
