The only thing 32 year old Suat Akıncı had to fight with against the traitorous attempt was a sling. His stones were not able to stop the bullets. He was at the General Staff Headquarters during the July 15th coup attempt, when he was martyred by the FETÖ members.
Suat heard about the coup attempt from the TV and went into the streets upon the call of President Erdoğan. He left his house at 11:00 AM for the General Staff Headquarters, despite the fact that his family did not want him to go. He fought the traitors with nothing more than his sling. He was wounded during the bombing attack and died a martyr’s death at the Numune Hospital where he was taken to.
Suat was buried in the Ankara Karşıyaka Cemetery. The name Martyr Suat Akıncı was given to an Anatolian imam hatip high school in Turgutlu, Manisa.
