
Budget revenues total $31.86B, while spending was $29.16B in August, according to Treasury and Finance Ministry data
Türkiye's budget posted a surplus of 96.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.37 billion) in August, according to the Treasury and Finance Ministry data released on Monday.
The budget revenues were at 1.3 trillion Turkish liras ($31.86 billion) in August, while expenditures totaled 1.19 trillion liras ($29.16 billion).
Non-interest budget balance posted a surplus of 276.4 billion liras ($6.77 billion) in the same period.
Interest payments amounted to 179.7 billion liras ($4.4 billion) in the month.
Meanwhile, the budget ran a deficit of 907.6 billion liras ($23.73 billion) in the January-August period with revenues of 7.98 trillion liras ($208.6 billion) and expenditures of 8.89 trillion liras ($232.4 billion).
Non-interest budget balance posted a surplus of 518 billion liras ($13.54 billion) over the eight-month period.
The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 38.24 on average during the January-August period and 40.8 in August.
