Former Medipol Basaksehir player Demba Ba also puts his shirt on auction in wake of devastating quakes
Former Senegal footballers El Hadji Diouf and Aliou Cisse donated their signed World Cup shirts to earthquake victims in Türkiye.
The match-worn special jerseys from the quarterfinal match of the 2002 World Cup against Türkiye will be auctioned off in the Turkish Embassy in Dakar on Thursday.
Türkiye, who were among the 2002 World Cup dark horses, eliminated Senegal 1-0 in the quarterfinals on a golden goal rule.
Former Medipol Basaksehir's Senegalese star Demba Ba has also put his shirt on auction to raise funds for the earthquake victims. Yukatel Kayserispor's Senegalese forward Mame Thiam also donated his signed Kayserispor and Fenerbahce shirts in the wake of the devastating quakes.
At least 42,310 people were killed by two strong earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye on Feb. 6. Tens of thousands of others were injured.
