
IGA Istanbul Airport sees highest-ever daily passenger traffic in last weekend of July, while Antalya Airport sets new record, according to Turkish Transport Ministry
Istanbul Airport and the Turkish Riviera hub of Antalya saw their highest-ever daily passenger counts on the weekend of July 26-27, according to the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.
IGA Istanbul Airport saw 272,132 passengers on July 27, the highest number of daily passengers in the airport’s history and in Europe, said Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu.
Antalya Airport, near the Mediterranean coast, broke its record for the highest number of daily passengers on July 26 with 225,118. Of the total that day, 203,348 were on international flights and 21,770 on domestic flights, according to the statement.
Antalya Airport’s previous record was 223,217 daily passengers on Aug. 3, 2024. The statement said that some 1,074 international flights and 143 domestic flights operated on that day, which is still the record number of aircraft traffic at the air hub.
