Israeli army continues deadly offensive in northern Gaza since last month
More than 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing offensive in the northern Gaza Strip since last month, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.“The Israeli army has killed more than 1,500 Palestinians during its military operations in northern Gaza,” Munir al-Brush, the ministry's director-general, told Anadolu.“The army continues to commit massacres and target shelters and civilians in northern Gaza, causing fatalities amid a strained healthcare system,” he said. Earlier, Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern city of Beit Lahiya, said that the hospital was operating with limited resources amid a deadly Israeli onslaught in the area. The army has launched a deadly offensive in the northern Gaza Strip since last month to allegedly prevent Palestinian resistance group Hamas from regrouping. Palestinians, however, accuse Israel of seeking to occupy the area and forcibly displace its residents. Israel has continued a devastating offensive on Gaza since a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 43,500 people and rendering the enclave almost uninhabitable. Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the blockaded enclave.*
