Russia will send invitations to government of Syria for summit set for this October, says Dmitry Peskov
Russia will invite the new Syrian authorities to the first-ever Russian-Arab Summit set for this October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a news conference in Moscow, Peskov said the authorities of Syria's new administration will get an invitation from Russia to the event.
"Certainly, such invitations will be sent," he said.
The first Russian-Arab summit was announced by President Vladimir Putin in May. In his greeting to participants at an Arab League summit, posted on the Kremlin website, he said the event would take place on Oct. 15.
