Gaza Humanitarian Foundation 'must be dismantled immediately, no state donor should fund it,' says medical charity
Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Monday once again criticized the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), describing aid sites run by the US and Israeli-backed group in the Palestinian territory as scenes of "orchestrated killing."
"This is not aid. This is orchestrated killing," the organization known by its French acronym MSF said on X.
The charity called for immediate action, saying the GHF must be dismantled immediately, no state donor should fund the controversial organization, the UN-led coordination system must be restored, siege on Gaza must be lifted to allow safe and large-scale aid delivery.
The controversial GHF began aid operations in late May and since then hundreds of people have been killed while seeking aid.
Overall, Israel has killed more than 61,000 in Gaza since October 2023. It has kept all Gaza crossings closed since March 2, blocking aid convoys despite hundreds of trucks waiting at the border. Only small amounts have been allowed in, far below the level needed to avert famine.
The World Food Program says one-third of Gaza’s population has gone several days without eating, calling the situation “unprecedented” in its levels of hunger and desperation. The UN estimates hundreds of aid trucks must enter daily to end the crisis.
