Cage match to take place next June
The White House is preparing to host an unprecedented UFC mixed martial arts event on the South Lawn next year, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The fight was originally planned for July 4, 2026, to coincide with America’s 250th birthday celebrations, but was later moved to June, said the report.
The event will include several days of fan festivities on the National Mall.
UFC Chief Executive Dana White met President Donald Trump last week and left the White House with Trump’s approval for the fight.
“The White House fight is on,” White said on social media following the meeting, which reportedly included discussions with Trump’s daughter, Ivanka -- a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and UFC fan.
The multi-day event will feature a full fight card for men and women, with fighter weigh-ins and a news conference at the Lincoln Memorial.
