Aselflir-600 stand out with its competitive price and advanced technical features, says head of Türkiye’s Defense Industry Secretariat
Turkish defense firm Aselsan’s new electro-optical camera system Aselflir-600, unveiled at this week’s International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul, outperformed its international counterparts and previous iterations of the system, the head of Türkiye’s Defense Industry Secretariat said at the event.
Haluk Gorgun said the camera was developed by Aselsan in collaboration with Turkish defense firm Baykar, and it outperformed its previous iterations, namely the Aselsan Cats and the Aselflir-500.
“Baykar and Aselsan engineers worked day and night for this project,” he said. “This camera will be a much more competitive product and it will be preferred for its technical features and price point.”
Gorgun said at least two countries are interested in the Aselflir-600 and in talks with Aselsan to jointly develop the electro-optical camera system.
He said the camera can be used in both armored and unarmored unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). “Its standout feature is its ability to capture clear images from high altitudes and target using its laser across great distances,” he noted.
Touting the T-Link (Tactical Data Link) solution that Aselsan developed, he said the all-encompassing networking system allows for Aselsan products to quickly and reliably transmit data to one another.
The six-day IDEF defense fair, which is set to wrap up this weekend, is organized by KFA Fairs with support from the secretariat and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.
