The DevSecOps Days Istanbul Conference, organized under the leadership of the IT Association, continued at Borsa Istanbul with the participation of many technology experts from different parts of the world.
The event, of which Anadolu serves as the global communication partner, is organized with the theme “AI for DevSecOps.”
Speaking at the event, Ergonautic founder Andrew Clay Shafer spoke about artificial intelligence (AI) and tips for more efficient work in his speech titled “DevSecOps and Beyond.”
Following Shafer, Hasan Yasar from Carnegie Mellon University gave a presentation titled "Synergy between AI, Agile & DevSecOps" and emphasized the importance of AI in DevSecOps.
Pointing out that the AI technology used today has been around for a long time, Yasar said that with the increase in technological possibilities, these technologies are now accessible to everyone.
Pointing out that the biggest problem of AI is energy consumption, he said: “Using AI comes at a cost. Microsoft bought an island and will build a nuclear power plant to cover this cost."
Yasar emphasized that AI is a useful tool for writing code and noted that Microsoft has terminated the jobs of many people who write code.
Aaron Rinehart from Capital One made a presentation on chaos engineering and shared his perspective on this technology with the participants.
Following Rinehart's presentation, the first panel of the event titled "The Future of Secure Software Development" was held. The panel was moderated by Arafat Salih Aydiner and included Emre Uzun from Turkcell, Kaan Demircan from Microsoft, Sami Arvas from Turkish Airlines and Mahmut Kucuk from Turk Telekom.
In his speech, Uzun said the biggest challenge in DevSecOps' transformation is cultural transformation and that this transformation should be spread within the company.
He emphasized that the software developer and the security team should understand each other and gave information about the work done at Turkcell in terms of DevSecOps.
Demircan spoke about Microsoft's innovations and shared his views on the use of AI tools in the DevSecOps process.
Arvas said they have deepened the DevSecOps approach in all its steps and explained the work they have done at Turkish Airlines in this context.
Kucuk pointed out that new technologies bring new business opportunities and added that it is necessary to focus on the culture of doing business with AI and make preparations for it.
