Ali Shamkhani, senior political advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and former top security official, is in stable condition after being severely injured in an Israeli strike on June 13, Iranian media reported on Friday.
Speculation about Shamkhani's condition ended when he personally confirmed his recovery in a message to the Supreme Leader, according to Press TV.
Shamkhani was hospitalized and treated for life-threatening injuries as a result of "Israeli terrorist aggression," according to multiple Iranian media outlets.
Hostilities broke out last Friday when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
According to Israeli authorities, Iranian missile attacks have killed at least 25 people and injured hundreds more since then.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reports that the Israeli assault killed 639 people and injured over 1,300 others.
