Army orders residents of 14 neighborhoods in Jabalia, Beit Lahia to immediately evacuate
The Israeli army ordered Palestinian civilians in the northern Gaza towns of Jabalia and Beit Lahia to evacuate on Thursday ahead of intensified assaults in the area.
Military spokesman Avichay Adraee said residents of 14 neighborhoods in the two towns “must immediately evacuate to the south.”
Adraee warned on his X account that the army will significantly expand its military operations in the designated areas, which he called “dangerous combat zones.”
Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 53,800 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
