Ongoing bombardment targets residential towers, schools, and shelters for the displaced

At least 43 Palestinians, mostly displaced persons and children, were killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to medical sources.

Civil defense teams retrieved from the rubble the bodies of 10 Palestinians who were killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza since early Sunday.

Local medical staff told Anadolu that four people, including two children, were killed and several others injured when Israeli warplanes bombed tents sheltering displaced families in the al-Rimal neighborhood in western Gaza City.

Four more Palestinians were killed and others wounded in a strike on a residential apartment in the al-Ghazali building in northern Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, the sources said.

Israeli army forces also shelled a house in the same neighborhood, killing three people.

Separately, eight Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli aircraft struck the al-Farabi School, where displaced civilians have taken shelter near al-Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City.

Five more people, including a woman, lost their lives in an Israeli strike on the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army destroyed a mosque and an Al Jazira club building that was sheltering thousands of displaced Palestinians in Gaza City.

The Israeli army has escalated its attacks in Gaza City in recent days, with residential towers repeatedly targeted and reduced to rubble, as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its widely condemned plan to occupy the entire city.

On Sunday, Israeli warplanes struck and destroyed the seven-story Al-Ruya building with over 30 apartments in western Gaza City.

In central Gaza, a Palestinian child was killed when the Israeli army struck a historical mosque in the city of Deir al-Balah

The Israeli army targeted a civilian gathering in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing five people, including a young girl, and injuring 15 others, Al-Awdah Hospital said in a statement.

Israeli drones also killed another civilian in Qarara in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Two more people were killed when the army struck a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in the city.

The Israeli genocidal war in Gaza has killed nearly 64,400 Palestinians since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
