President Lee Jae Myung holds 1st phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte since taking office last month
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Thursday, Yonhap News Agency reports.
President Lee discussed with Rutte over the phone about South Korea's growing partnership with NATO.
This was his first telephone conversation with Rutte since taking office last month.
Lee was unable to attend last month's NATO summit in The Hague, and his National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac represented the country.
Wi also met with Rutte on the sidelines of the political and military alliance's summit, and the two agreed to establish a consultative body on defense industry cooperation.
