Protesters from extremist group Tsav 9 gathered at border crossing to prevent aid deliveries to Gaza

Right-wing Israelis attempted to obstruct the entry of humanitarian aid trucks into the besieged Gaza Strip on Wednesday, Israeli media said.

According to Haaretz newspaper, around 20 activists from the extremist group Tsav 9 (Order 9) gathered at the Kerem Shalom border crossing to prevent aid deliveries to Gaza, where famine conditions persist under Israel's prolonged blockade.

The group repeatedly claimed on social media that humanitarian assistance for failure to achieve Israel's war goals in Gaza and vowed to block aid until all Israeli captives are returned.

Israel estimates that 58 hostages remain in Gaza, including 20 believed to be alive. Meanwhile, more than 10,000 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons under harsh conditions, including reports of torture, starvation, and medical neglect, according to rights groups.

The protest comes as Gaza faces its 94th day under near-total siege, despite international calls to lift restrictions that amount to collective punishment.

While Israel has permitted limited aid under mounting global pressure, UN agencies say current deliveries meet only a fraction of the enclave's desperate needs.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 54,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
