Barış Efe, who heard of the coup from TV and went to Bosphorus Bridge where one of the most violent conflicts took place, left his apartment upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and fell a martyr at the age of 38.
Working as a stylist in a textile company, Efe was single. Known for his love of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Efe shared a photo of himself running on the bridge with a flag tied around his neck via his social media account, on the night of July 15. That was the last thing he shared online.
Martyr Efe was buried in Eflani, Karabük on July 17th, Sunday.
During the Family and Social Policies Secretary Dr.Fatma Betül Sayan’s visit, the martyr’s mother said that Efe loved President Erdoğan a lot, and stated, “Barış loved our President a lot. That night, he left for the President.May God bless our nation and our government.”
The martyr’s name was given to an Imam Hatip middle school in his hometown of Eflani.
