Military vehicle hits roadside bomb near separation fence; army seals off area

‏Two Israeli soldiers were injured Thursday when a roadside bomb struck their armored vehicle in the northern West Bank, according to Israeli media.

Israel’s public broadcaster KAN said the blast targeted a Panther-type military vehicle near the separation fence close to the Nitzanei Oz crossing, leaving the soldiers with light wounds.

‏Army Radio reported that Israeli forces sealed off the Tulkarem area following the explosion.

‏The Israeli army has been carrying out a large-scale military campaign across the northern West Bank, including Tulkarem, since the beginning of the year.

Since October 2023, when Israel launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, at least 1,020 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
