Ukraine subjected to over 4,315 cyber incidents in 2024, according to Swedish Foreign Ministry
Sweden on Monday announced that it would provide around 135 million Swedish krona ($14 million) to support Ukraine's civil cybersecurity.
"Sweden is providing a new contribution of SEK 135 million to Ukraine's civil cybersecurity," a Swedish Foreign Ministry statement said.
Stressing that cyberattacks on civilian infrastructure have increased in many countries, the statement said that Ukraine was subjected to more than 4,315 cyber incidents in 2024, an average of 12 a day.
"It's crucial that Ukraine can continue to provide its citizens with basic social services, access to information and digital services, for example in schools, health and social care. That's why we're now strengthening Ukraine's cybersecurity with a substantial contribution of SEK 135 million. This will make Ukraine more resilient against future attacks," Benjamin Dousa, the Swedish international development cooperation and foreign trade minister, said in the statement.
