‘We know and believe that those killed in Hiroshima were not only Japanese but all of humanity,’ says Numan Kurtulmus

Turkish parliament speaker Numan Kurtulmus commemorated the 80th anniversary of the dropping of a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, on Wednesday, stating that those killed in Hiroshima were not only Japanese but all of humanity.

“On the anniversary of the Hiroshima disaster, a dark stain in history, I share the pain of the lost and destroyed lives with all my heart. We know and believe that those killed in Hiroshima were not only Japanese but all of humanity,” Kurtulmus wrote on the social media platform X.

He drew parallels to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, where “the Zionist regime of Israel, led by Netanyahu and his gang, has been perpetrating a human tragedy akin to Hiroshima.”

“In Gaza, innocent civilians, children, and women are losing their lives every day in the grip of ruthless brutality,” Kurtulmus said.

He emphasized that “History has not forgotten Hiroshima, and it will not forget Gaza either. As witnesses of the moment, we have not forgotten any massacre, and we will not forget.”
