Turkish authorities impose restrictions on accounts and posts that constitute criminal offenses

Prosecutors in the Turkish capital Ankara have launched an investigation into the AI app Grok for sending responses to users that constitute a crime.

On Tuesday in particular, Grok, on the social media platform X, began responding to many users' questions with profanity and insults.

The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office deemed it necessary to launch an investigation in order to impose access restrictions and content removal decisions, and in this context, access restrictions have been imposed on accounts and posts that constitute criminal offenses.

Grok made a statement on Wednesday to say: "We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts.

"Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X."

The AI firm is able to quickly identify and update the model, the statement said.

In addition to Türkiye, other countries are also considering legal action against the app.
