Former top Ghanaian football official also fined 500,000 Swiss francs for bribery and corruption

FIFA has banned Kwesi Nyantakyi, former head of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), for life from all football-related activities at both the national and international levels due to bribery and corruption, among other offenses.

"The adjudicatory chamber found Mr. Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition," FIFA said in a statement on Tuesday.

Additionally, a fine in the amount of 500,000 Swiss francs ($497,000) was imposed on Nyantakyi, FIFA said.

In June, Nyantakyi was filmed in a hotel room placing $65,000 from an undercover reporter into a plastic bag.
