Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-0 in Sunday as 7 clubs win their first games in Premier League’s 2019-2020 season
Manchester United hammered London’s powerhouse Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday in their first games of the English Premier League’s 2019-2020 season.
Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock in the 18th minute with his penalty goal and gave a lead to his team.
French forward Anthony Martial doubled his team's lead in the 65th minute. Two minutes after this goal, Rashford scored his second goal in the game. United’s new transfer Daniel James found the net in the 81st minute and Manchester United won the game 4-0.
Last season’s runner up Liverpool defeated Norwich City 4-1 at the Reds' Anfield Stadium in the opening match of the league.
Manchester City- which dominated the Premier League over the last two seasons- beat London’s West Ham 5-0 in an easy victory at London Stadium on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur – Champions League runners up – also hosted newly promoted Aston Villa on Saturday and the London club defeated the Aston Villa 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Separately, Newcastle United started the season with a loss as they were beaten by Arsenal 1-0 at home on Sunday.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Brighton, Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal captured three points in their first games of the season.
