‘We will not stop this historic operation before we achieve our goals,' pledges Israeli prime minister

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Sunday that the recent strikes that targeted the Fordo nuclear site in Iran seriously damaged that facility.

“US strikes did very serious damage to the Fordo facility," Netanyahu said in a prerecorded press conference.

He noted that Israel “will not be dragged into a war of attrition, but we will not stop this historic operation before we achieve our goals.”

“Once we accomplish our objectives in Iran, we will not continue operations beyond what is necessary, but we will not end the mission prematurely,” he said.

Claiming progress, Netanyahu stated, “We have already achieved a lot, and now, with the help of President Donald Trump, we are closer to reaching our goals.”

Netanyahu reiterated that Israel's war against Iran will “change the face of the Middle East.”

He said his government “will assess the situation and work to ensure that the Fordo facility poses no threat to Israel.”

Iran's official radio and television broadcaster reported Sunday that targeted sites had been evacuated before the attack and sensitive nuclear materials were moved to safe locations, without providing details.

“The Iranians have suffered severe blows with the destruction of their nuclear facilities and the killing of their scientists, and we are determined to complete the mission,” said Netanyahu.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the US military aggression and said Washington must receive an appropriate response.

The US targeted Iran's nuclear sites with six bunker-buster bombs dropped on the Fordo facility with B-2 stealth bombers, along with dozens of submarine-launched cruise missile strikes on the Natanz and Isfahan sites.

The attacks came as the latest escalation in a US-backed Israeli military assault on Iran since June 13, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks on Israel.

Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Iran, 430 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.
