Tottenham Hotspur has become the latest English Premier League club to host a collective Ramadan iftar event at its stadium during the holy month of Ramadan. The event was organized by Spurs REACH, the club’s dedicated supporters’ group, and featured famous players Arnaut Danjuma and Ledley King as well as hundreds of Spurs REACH members.

During a panel session at the event, both Danjuma and King highlighted the importance of providing an inclusive environment around football to support players of all faiths. Danjuma shared how Ramadan is a significant event in the Muslim community, and how his religion is the foundation of his life. He went on to add that his experiences in football have been positive, particularly in England where there is an accepting culture of different religions.

Meanwhile, King emphasized the importance of supporting players during Ramadan and ensuring good communication, as he had played with many Muslim players during his career.

Tottenham Hotspur’s collective Ramadan iftar event follows similar events hosted by other Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Aston Villa. These events are part of the "Open Iftar" initiative, which aims to promote inclusivity and understanding, as well as to provide a safe and welcoming environment for Muslims during Ramadan.

The event also demonstrates the club’s commitment to supporting players of all faiths and promoting diversity in football. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the need to create a more inclusive culture in the sport, and events such as the Ramadan iftar highlight the positive steps that clubs are taking to achieve this.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Ramadan iftar event is a significant development for the club and the sport of football in general. By providing a platform for dialogue and understanding, it is helping to promote inclusivity and support for players of all faiths, and creating a more welcoming environment for Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
